blog maintenance tedium

after too many years of not updating the site design, i finally caved and did it the wimpy way--with one of blogger's pre-built template options. at least i had to tweak it in order to still fit 500px images, so maybe it wasn't totally weak? (ha.)

also, editing the pre-written template made me realize how little i know of CSS and modern, non-deprecated HTML. what kind of self-respecting computer science grad could admit such a thing??

also weak: i had to consult the Blogger help pages to figure out how to have those nice-looking titles (see unusually large title above). hooray for discovering "new" features ten years after they got implemented. maybe by 2015 i'll have really fancy shit like mobile phone blogging figured out.

please pardon the crankiness--i just spent several hours entering all my books into Delicious Library (128 of them, it turns out) and it was rather anti-climactic.

it's been less than twelve hours and i already miss you, Pittsburgh. i haven't had a drink or climbed a stupidly steep hill since yesterday! woe. one thing that hasn't changed though is getting hit on by random dudes. i don't want to sound conceited but over the course of the past week, it really got excessive. the Philadelphia parking lot attendant today gave me his phone number. overall, very peculiar and quite unexpected. though perhaps a natural consquence of being in cities where there is actually a significant portion of the population between the ages of 18 and 30, unlike here in suburban northern New Jersey.
