super happy bullet time
quick rundown of what's been going down in this joint:
- the Tour is over so no more nightly excursions to Joel's house for bicyclists and beer. but, good job, Lance-o. so i am now entertaining other options of exciting things to do on weeknights.
- hitched a ride with Saroj who was going to CT and went home last weekend. a bit of a bust, as far as trips go. A) didn't get to watch Stage 19 the final individual time trial and B) missed Critical Mass and didn't get to go to the NYC one because Friday afternoon traffic is hell and bus companies suck for not letting bikes on and trains are hella slow. but it was nice to chill with the family for a couple days. my parents, my brother, and i went out to dinner on Friday night and as we were walking back to the car after dinner, my parents were holding hands. aww. hung out with my one friend the Dimpster Saturday night and caught up.
- work this week has been mega-slow. Mike and Dave are away in Alabama so the past few days i've been reading the pile of books i checked out from the li-barry. but today i will self-educate myself on how to generate XML files. yes, yes i will.
- Yorkshire has been super busy with that stats class and work but today is the last day of that class so perhaps it will be better soon.
- i've been inspired by Sara's 1877 free school workshop on screenprinting to try it out myself. so far i am still short on supplies though (photo emulsion remover not to be had for love or money in this town it seems) but have four tshirt designs and a pile of blank shirts already waiting in the wings. "my heart's a bitter buff-a-lo..."
- despite the pain in the butt of moving, packing is kind of nice in that you find all sorts of stuff that you forgot you had. ie, Everclear "Sparkle and Fade" CD. sooo "good." also, it is one of the few occasions on which i look through all the photographs i have of all the days at cmu leading up to now. reminders of who i don't talk to anymore (alas), who i havent been talking to enough, and who are still going strong friendships.
- Jonathan has just brought to my attention a recent girlsarepretty. i think it is an appropriate note to end on.
Waste Away The Day (Like You Have A Choice In The Matter?) Day!
Today, because you really couldn't imagine ever living your life in any other way, you should spend the day doing nothing at all productive and just sort of lay there. After a while, talk to your walls. Say something like, "Hello walls." If the walls say, "What up, ya'll?" or something, congratulations, your life has devolved to such a vague, insignificant existence that your walls perceive you as just another inanimate piece of furniture and so they think it's okay to shoot the shit with you.
Happy Waste Away The Day (Like You Have A Choice In The Matter?) Day!
