the nice thing about aim is that the sound of typing emanating from my cubicle at work makes it sound like i'm working.

corollary, being able to easily switch between workspaces ensures that visual confirmation of my productivity is easily at hand, should someone actually look.

this morning as i was biking to campus, there was a whole crew of day care or preschool kiddies going down the sidewalk on bayard. as i approached them and we passed each other in opposite directions, i could hear one kid in the bunch exclaiming very excitedly at my bike: "oooh! oooh! oooh!"
good taste, that kid.
(this is what my bike looks like, except that it was made in 1973 and is a slightly darker, brighter blue.)

also, the (primary) reason that i am not doing work today is not because i am a slacker, but because i was busy bonding with sarojT, catching up on dirt in our respective lives. it's been a while since i've done so with anyone that is a girl, and it was fun and nurturing and insightful as usual. it helps keep things in perspective to see them through the eyes and judgment of someone you trust, and who you can trust to not have any ulterior motives whatsoever. and also because we females have to keep up a united front you know, so as to watch each others backs when you fellas do something shady.
