yesterday was a lot of fun. today can only be described as lackluster.
let's compare and contrast, shall we?
yesterday:
- Kraynick's trip, wherein he showed me how to fix my bike and i did so, after much inefficient tinkering. awesome place, highly recommended. he refused to take any money which is only further motivation for us all to go and buy stuff there whenever possible.
- hung out at 1877 for a little while, talked to Andalusia about her bike zine and found out that she knows Shelley of Chainbreaker fame, who is putting out another issue as well. note to self: get act together and finally send Shelley the package.
- joel showed up at 1877 looking for someone to go biking with him, so i went since it was a nice day, though somewhat intimidated. the route we took was as follows: down liberty towards the strip but left on a bridge and into an alarmingly cookiecutter neighborhood onto the north shore trail, which hangs right over the water and leads down by the warhol and across the pedestrian walkway into point park, through downtown a ways and across the 10th st bridge into southside. we split ways briefly here so that joel could go up the mountain while i meandered parallel to e carson along a back road and re-met up at goodwill. then a bit further down carson to the hot metal bridge, which led conveniently to panther hollow and then oakland. much fun. i should go again soon while i still remember how to get there...maybe this weekend. all yous are invited to come with.
- q and not u show at modern formations. excellent. everyone was dancing around and jumping up and down in spite of the hot & humidity of being packed into a small room. the first and last songs were especially good. if you know what the last one was, tell me please. it included the lyrics "my heart pumps blood, not gasoline." in between sets, discussed uteruses (uterii) with emma and questioned the existence of true randomness in the universe with matt.
today:
- stuck inside at work.
- hungry.
- somewhat discomfited by perceived feelings of social ineptitude and conversational inadequacy.
