Why start something you don't feel like finishing?

Realization #1
i have been hypocritical. i want people who care about me to let go, but i've been holding on to other people i care about just as single-mindedly. this is bad.

fortunately, there's Realization #2. which is, that letting go is what i really want to do. in one moment, it dawned on me that i cared so much about you that what i wanted more than anything else is for you to be happy and not to feel fucked up or broken because of me. to that end, i would give up my demands upon your time and your attentions.

for the record, you (just the way you are) have been a very good thing to have happened to me, and i wouldn't have changed anything to arrive in this moment, knowing the things i know and feeling the way i feel.

but enough heaviness. here's something to fill your airwaves. it's my new favorite song.
