sideways stories from cmu-school
when professors try to improvise their lecture without their precious powerpoint slides, this is the sort of thing they end up writing on the board:
DRAM: 1 transistors, 1 capacitator, volatile
SRAM: 6 transistor, 6 transistors, stable, stable
fine, you didn't like that story? well then, here's a Neil Donnelly story! for those of you playing at home, he's the Cutest Boy in Pittsburgh/Sexiest Man in Rock. but you already knew that.
last night i was down at the station doing music staph stuff, when Jan asked me if i could cover for Neil's show a little while. apparently, Neil had called to say he would be 20 min late. it was more like 30, but i did it, cause really all i had to do was pop in a 15 minute jazz number and such. anyhow, when Neil shows up, he's totally grateful and tells me "if you ever need a sub, just let me know, i'd be glad to return the favor." then he pauses and asks "when is your show?" and i tell him, Friday noon-2, at which point he looks dismayed, "well, i can't do then, but i guess if you ever have an evening or weekend show...?" and i kind of laugh and say disbelievingly "yeah..i'll keep you in mind.." to which he responds
"or if there's any other way i can make it up to you"
...
it's a good thing Sean jumped in the conversation at that moment with the suggestion "you could help with music staph" cause i would have gone right on gaping at his hottness with my mouth open, with neurons firing like crazy thinking in that microsecond of the millions of ways i wanted to answer that question given that my imagination was running wild in the streets and rolling in the gutter like there was no tomorrow.
