i guess...firing up TextEdit first this time though.

nearly two months to the day since the last, post-Tour entry but there's been simultaneously too much and too little going on since then to talk about. besides, how can one possibly hope to compete with the serial excitement of Joel's extended road trip diaries, especially given that i now live in New Jersey of all places?

notwithstanding, updates ahoy. in brief:

1. moved out of pittsburgh. *sniff* how do i miss thee? let me count the ways...


2. acquired two more email accounts: one on Eden and one on gmail. but Andrew is still alive and well, so keep at it if you haven't already.


3. have suffered much intermittent cell phone reception in the Northern New Jersey area, particularly in the half-acre area of my house and when Apple is on the line. way to go, AT&T.


4. managed to permanently lose the last few years' worth of treasured text messages due to the unfortunate coincidence of the PDA on which they were stored crashing (Palm's fault) and a misconfiguration in the corresponding back-up conduit (probably iSync's fault). the T3 and i are currently no longer on speaking terms. if you are perhaps interested in acquiring said flaky device, maybe we can work something out. i would much rather have a bike.


5. ineptly managed to corrupt my entire OS X icon collection. my fault there. must be that i've been away from the nourishing springs of the Wean cluster for too long to be trusted with operating a command line.


6. recently purchased first pair of pointy shoes, from Payless, and they rock (ie, the same ones owned by Shahrzad and her/our little sister)


7. learned today about Excel, in subjects such as conditionally summing and counting, adding VBA modules to sum based on fill color, and started on AutoFiltering. perhaps i've missed my calling as a soulless, slimy, number-crunching, Excel-blazing accountant-type.


8. oh and some vaguely defined business about medical school aspirations, by way of free-body diagrams and mitosis sketches. more on that when/if details become available.


9. somewhat related though: my non-job with the Center for Biotechnology and Medicine has indirectly inspired me to join Folding@Home. go team! after a week of effort, Shiny finished his first work unit this evening, and he is plum tuckered out. he would be embarrassed by the comparative performance of the family desktop if he weren't so secure in his striking good looks and impeccable fashion sense.


10. and finally, speaking of physical exertion and intricate folding, this week i am starting Pilates. correction: pirate Pilates. yesss

apparently blogger has, in my absence, switched over to being powered by hamsters. this update is taking an inordinately long time to get published. CAMINO-HATING HAMSTERS.
