confession

i now have a crush on the singer of Whatever It Takes (also the bassist of Anti-Flag). here's why. the scene: the Teddy Duchamp's Army show last night at Roboto. during one of the last songs in WIT's set, there was a part of the song where the music suddenly got quieter. since it was an instrumental section, Chris Barker (as i just found out his name is, thanks to pittpunk) was left with nothing to do but run his hands through his hair, down his neck, and absent-mindedly lift his shirt hem a few inches. sweaty skinny rock boy touching himself "sensuously" (to use Shahrzad's word), all the while with an introspective intense look on his face.. it was the hottest thing i've ever seen anyone do in public. i mean, i had already thought he was really cute, but after this show, we couldnt help but see him in a completely different light, given the vision of sex god we had glimpsed only minutes before.

all in all, the show was a lot of fun, particularly cause of us being extremely giggly and lame. it does a body good to kick back and be immature and ogle hot indie rock flesh every now and then, you know. we spend all this time being cultured and intellectual and pretending to be smart while discussing great literary works but sometimes being silly is just the thing for a Saturday night. so don't feel threatened, Jo Ma, we were just being girly-girls for a few hours.

on the same token, Kevin's party was fun despite the odd mix of Donner / design crowd. with the help of Matt's mp3 collection, Shahrzad and i played DJ for the select few within earshot of the computer's speakers, and danced and sang our hearts out. eventually though, people began to notice and soon, my faith in humanity was reaffirmed by how it seemed like almost every person knew every word to every Smiths-Cure-New Order-Pixies-whathaveyou song ever.
