*beam*
wow this has been an insanely good day!
first i find radio love. this is the only non-cconing (read, non-geeky) happy thing. no wait, i did listen to it on the ccon office's ancient stereo in the corner over there. it plays eight-tracks.
second i taught someone who had never used unix before with unix stuff (latex/pdf/ps/dvi) that i myself only learned a few weeks ago. plus, always feels good to add one to the rank of people who know how to check the print queue.
third, i made my 10th grade bio teacher's joke about molasses on the ccon channel. "sometimes you can see them sticking out of the ground"
and three SER firsts: earlier i actually referred someone to the Help Center, there's an ID being held, and just now i saw someone using the netbar!
...and this has just been since 3 PM! before that i had a fun radio show and ate fried food and responsibly returned videos to the video store with Matt who unexpectedly escaped work. wow. i dont even care that i didnt spend the last two hours as intended doing 212 or 251 hw both due tomorrow! wait, that's a sucky note to end on..
how about.. it's 5 pm and i'm freeeeeee! no wait, here's a better one. another good thing that happened today since 3 PM is: you know those great conversations where you realize you're better friends with someone then you thought? yeah, one of those.
incidentally, i think it's cute when people sit in chairs with one knee up with their foot on the seat. why do i mention this? let's just say when i sat down to edit this post, instead of changing the default www.cmu.edu to www.blogger.com, i started typing
www.zmap.com...
and by the time i write this second sentence on the subject, i've already found out his user id and that he's a freshman. as Joel says "ripe for the corruption".. excellent.
oops, i'm supposed to be looking for a good place to get hot cocoa. do you know of one?
