and it was all yellow

after several weeks of writing about not much else, i am officially burned out on the Tour de France. for the first time since the July 11 rest day, i did not go into work today. tomorrow is the time trial and then Sunday is Paris and then it will be all over. kinda sad really. no more will Lance Armstrong defend his historic winning streak. in a Manhattan tea house/eatery this week, i overheard a Lance-fan excitedly describing the famous Texan's story to a rapt group of three, including several members of the waitstaff. his story is, of course, pretty amazing, and his first book (It's Not About the Bike) is quite good, from what i've been told. it's probably next in my queue after the Jon Stewart book.

other than not going to work, another first for me today was eyebrow tweezing. thanks to Shahrzad's tips, as well as several library books on make-up and a healthy dose of caution, they turned out pretty well. whew. now i just need to figure out the eyelash curler and by jiminy, i'll be a Real Girl.

on Monday and Tuesday, i will be in Philadelphia to interview for an Americorps position at an elementary school, along with visiting Saroj and most importantly, buying lemonade tea from Wawa.
