it's summerrrrrrrr!

so i'm not actually free from this thankless Housing job just yet. today and tomorrow i'm on for 12-4 which isn't bad at all, and will justify my urge to go on a music-buying spree. i think my new favorite band may be the Tigerlilies. i discovered them on last-last week's 7" show and found out Friday that they put exactly one album out, which i played last week and will now buy. maybe.
show highlight: immediately after "Styrofoam Plates", an older-Yinzer-sounding man called in to find out the artist was. after several attempts of spelling out each word of the name and repeating the name a few times, he went from confused to amused in that "those crazy kids" way that a band could be called Death Cab for Cutie. it was cute.
also discovered on the 7" show was a band called Don Martin 3, but other than the one split 7" we have, i cant find anything else about them. they don't exist on allmusic. all google could tell me was that they put out a 12" too, which i will look for in the record library next chance i get. fie, internet!
