alternacrap

from Sunday:
*the* bad music show. i havent finished entering it in the nifty wrct new database, so here's the mix it came from.

  • 311 - Down

  • Collective Soul - The World I Know

  • Toadies - Possum Kingdom

  • Better than Ezra - Good

  • Cake - the Distance

  • Candlebox - Far Behind

  • Coolio - 1,2,3,4 Get Your Woman on the Floor

  • Cracker - Low

  • Dishwalla - Counting Blue Cars

  • Foo Fighters - This is a Call

  • Gin Blossoms - Hey Jealousy

  • Nada Surf - Popular

  • OMD - Unbelievable (by request)

  • Primitive Radio Gods - Standing outside a broken phone booth..

  • Salt N Pepa - Shoop

  • Third Eye Blind - Semi-Charmed Kind of Life

  • Toad the Wet Sprocket - All I Want

  • Sir Mix-a-lot - Baby Got Back

this went down during the station's help-out night too so everyone was there and boy did we get it. Jeremy couldnt stand the stuff. Most people let it go cause it was intentional sucking, and themed even! as Joel coined it "alternacrap!" and he definitely groaned audibly quite a few times while sitting through it while working on the air studio computer. got "mad props" from one person though, and other commented that he turned on the radio in the car on the way there to be shocked that he knew a song that wrct was playing. i gave away a cd by asking people to call in with their most shameful "under-the-bed" cd, and two people reported PM Dawn and Milli Vanilli. ouch. notable phone call: "we were debating whether you'd have it but.. can you play 'Mmmbop'? Maybe it's under a chair leg somewhere in the station?" for the big finale, Shahrzad and i frat-party-danced to "Baby Got Back" in the air studio (as did Ben Stolt in mcr.. hm) and were given the honorable title of "the two whitest people alive" by Jeremy. yesss! a great time was had by all, regardless of what they may say.

ps. i *cannot* believe that both Shahrzad and Matt like "Jumper" by Third Eye Blind. two of them?? it boggles the mind!
